Course Aims

This course is intended for candidates who wish to act as Level Crossing Attendants on Network Rail’s infrastructure

Who Is The Course Suitable For?

Anyone over the age of 18 who is required to manually operate level crossing barriers which have failed or otherwise are required to be placed on local control, or to assist the signaller in the operation of the level crossing. As a Level Crossing Attendant is classed as working alone, they must either hold COSS or IWA competency as a pre-requisite. Any COSS with a Red Triangle on their card is prohibited from working alone on the Infrastructure and therefore is not eligible to attend.
