IWA Initial Core Knowledge Assessment

Course Aims

Who Is The Course Suitable For?

Any persons who wish to maintain their certification must successfully complete IWA assessments. Only persons who have the correct number of log book entries, and if the IWA assessment falls within the correct timescale, will be eligible to undergo said assessment.

If a person fails to carry out their assessment within the correct timescale, they lose the competency and will have to undergo initial training to regain the competency.

Course Objectives

On successful completion of the assessment Candidates will have proven their knowledge and understanding of the relevant parts of the Network Rail Rule Book and the Railway Group Standard and will have demonstrated their underpinning knowledge in all areas of their qualification.

Additional Information

IWA assessments can be carried out during day shift or nightshift working. A maximum of 2 candidates can be assessed during one shift.
