Course Objectives
At the end of the course candidates will be able to:
- Describe how the crane is designed to function under normal operating conditions
- Describe what equipment calibration certificates and checks are required to comply with the relevant rules and regulations
- Describe what preparatory checks need to be completed on the machine
- Describe the checks needed to be completed on lifting accessories prior to use
- Briefly describe the main functions of all relevant controls available to the Driver/Operator
- Avoid the Lorry Loader Crane being placed in an unstable condition
- Demonstrate their ability to read a work/lift plan and communicate its content effectively
- Correctly attach and use the lifting accessories to ensure a safe lift
- Control the movement of the Lorry Loader Crane
- Describe what information needs to be give to the Driver/Operator
Additional Information
Candidates must be a minimum age of 18, hold the PTS competence and be deemed competence to undertake OTP duties by their primary sponsor.
Candidates must hold a valid Machine Operator Competence - Machine Operator Highway Permissible Vehicle or Machine Operator Self Propelled MEWP
